Rest in Piece Nick Adenhart

Nick Adenart, one of the great up and coming pitchers in baseball, was tragically killed late Wednesday by a careless drunk driver. This happened just hours after pitching the best game of his life, throwing six scoreless innings against the Athletics.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends that have been affected by this tragedy.

Adenhart was a member of the Angels and their farm-system for four years and manager Mike Scioscia knew he was going to be a good one. Wednesday night's performance proved that.

Friday was the first game back for the Angels since the incident, with images of Torii Hunter patting Adenhart's picture on the centerfield wall and Jerrod Weaver writing Adenhart's initials on the mound.

The Angels would go on to win the game 6-3 over the Red Sox, and the whole team will rally this win and the rest of the season around Nick Adenhart's memory.
