USC Senior in Critical, But Stable Condition

After watching Tim Tebow nearly get his head knocked off in Saturday night's showdown with Kentucky, I thought I had cringed enough for the weekend. That didn't end up being the case after hearing about Southern Cal senior running back Stafon Johnson's weight lifting accident on Monday.

Johnson is extremely lucky to be alive after dropping 275 pounds on his neck after attempting to bench it. The weight reportedly slipped off of his hands.

It's now been less than a day since the accident occurred, and Johnson is already showing positve signs that he will recover.I've heard that Johnson is one of the toughest guys on the team and this proves it.

Immediately after the accident Johnson went into surgery for more than seven hours to repair his injuries to his throat.

This is still all up in the air, but some experts aren't even ruling out Johnson returning to the field eventually.

For any of you who don't know about Stafon Johnson, he was the player who put the icing on the cake in the big win over Ohio State by getting to the outside for the rushing touchdown. He actually had two touchdowns in that game and 50 yards rushing.

Hope he has a speedy and full recovery.
