Detroit and Pittsburgh Set for Stanley Cup Finals Rematch

The odds were not good for the Penguins coming into this past season being the Stanley Cup losers from last season, but they prevailed nonetheless.

This year's team is much better than last year's team which lost to Detroit in six games. Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin will be way more prepared coming into this year's Stanley Cup finals.

The Red Wings will also be well prepared, as always. Nicklas Lidstrom is expected to be back for Game 1 after missing two games and well know what he can do all the defensive side. You also can't deny how vital Pavel Datsyuk is to this squad. There also still waiting on Kris Draper's return.

This will be a great series and it will most likely go seven games. The Penguins are the better offensive team but the Red Wings are a better defensive team.

I think the Penguins will ultimately win this series. They just have too much offensive firepower and the Red Wings may be a little too old for the speedy skaters of the Pittsburgh. This is Crosby's time to shine, and having key role players like Evgeni Malkin, Gary Roberts, and Jordan Staal will just be too much for the Red Wings to handle in a seven game series.
